Chöd is an essential form of Buddhist practice in the Tibetan Nyingma tradition aimed at cutting through the mental obscurations and ego-clinging that prevent us from seeing the ultimate nature of reality. In his introduction, Gochen Tulku Sangak Rinpoche says, "Chöd is the superb means for [those who have not yet realized the view of the Great Perfection approach] to enhance their practice of the view and cut forcefully through their mental entanglements."
This book is an addendum used during the annual Sangwa Yeshe Drupchöd at the Ewam Garden of One Thousand Buddhas. It can also serve as a stand-alone practice.
