The Instructions on the Source Concerning the Intermediate States
The Tibetan term Bardo (intermediate state) has become quite well known amongst Buddhist practitioners, but many of them only understand it as the period between death and one’s next birth. That is however just one intermediate state among many. In the text Tulku Sangak Rinpoche explains that everything other than basic space as the original ground of being is an intermediate state and then, according to the root cycle of Peaceful and Wrathful Deities: Stirring the Pit of Hells from Its Depths, presents instructions for attaining liberation within six intermediate states, or six particular contexts of our lives. This text contains instructions on some of the highest levels of tantric practice and is therefore not recommended for beginners.
